The strategic alliance will see the NX Nail system from Field Orthopaedics added to Medartis’ comprehensive hand portfolio in an exclusive distribution partnership, which will extend the global distribution footprint of the product and provide growth opportunities in international markets.
With an anatomically inspired head, narrow waist and cutting efficiency, the NX Nail is engineered to provide increased engagement and fragment control by acting as a physiological splint which is designed to withstand normal loads and facilitate rapid return to function. Medartis Chief Technology Officer (US) Ryan Schlotterback believes the “NX Nail system addresses the growing need of surgeons for an efficient, less invasive treatment that enables rapid recovery of patients after a finger fracture. The NX Nail is the most comprehensive hand nailing system on the market, and it perfectly complements our APTUS hand plate and screw portfolio.”
Field Orthopaedics CEO Patryk Kania said that “we are excited about this collaboration. Medartis is a top player in musculoskeletal extremity healthcare and specifically in orthopaedic hand surgery. By combining its global reach and commercial expertise with Field Orthopaedics’ innovative solutions for hand extremity trauma, we can rapidly extend our sales and distribution footprint, and ultimately reach more patients in more countries. It’s fantastic that two organisations driven by excellence and innovation can partner to provide the most comprehensive hand surgery offerings for surgeons and their patients.” Schlotterback echoed this, saying that the Medartis team was excited about the new partnership and saw the NX Nail system as a value add for customers, with distribution planned to commence in Q4 2022.
Members of the Field Orthopaedics leadership, commercial and technical teams will be attending the annual American Society for Surgery of the Hand in Boston from 29 September to promote the new partnership and meet with customers.
